Met Police Partnership with London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Council |
||
Dear Residents,
I would like to share this good news about The Met Police's partnership with London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Council (LBHF) which enables us in tackling crime.
One of the ways we benefit from this partnership is through the provision of CCTV, particularly in locations in the parks. According to the LBHF Council, their most recent round of CCTV investment is in advanced technologies, including AI-assisted cameras and facial recognition in busy areas – elevating their ability to spot and tackle criminal activity, which would then be passed on to the Police. They do share their CCTV footage in real-time with us, the Met Police; recognising that having CCTV footage is essential when successfully prosecuting perpetrators of crime through the criminal justice system.
Last year, the Council’s CCTV network contributed to the Met making considerable number of arrests across Hammersmith and Fulham. This year, so far, the Council’s CCTV network has supported the police to make a large number of arrests across our Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
I’d like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to report crimes to us, the Met Police. It helps us get the policing resources we need. I’d like to encourage everyone to sign up to the new Met Engage platform. It enables us to get direct access to local information, through your sharing on the platform. However, it does not do away with the current method of reporting crime. Please remember, in an emergency, always dial 999 and for non-urgent crime always dial 101 or report online, on the Met Police web site.
Our partnership with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham Council and with your help (our residents) and businesses, will continue to enable us in tackling crime and to do all we can to keep everyone safe.
Have a good week. Regards,
Palace and Hurlingham SNT Officers | ||
